This gorgeous early spring has given parents another benefit. The kids can go outside to play. And that activity is good for them. A recent article on the parenting site Babble discussed how much and what kind of physical activity children need for good health. Play can be good for children in many ways, the article said. Hopscotch can help build strong bones. Climbing trees develops muscle strength. Jumping rope is good aerobic activity. My kids LOVE to play outside! We just had a playset built in our backyard so this has become a hit! They love their bikes and scooters and sporting goods too! Lately, our oldest has been trying to get out of going outside though because we are teaching him to ride his bike without training wheels. He can do it but gets frustrated. Getting in shape is one of the most popular New Year's resolutions. Whether it's to lose weight, work up to running a road race, or reducing stress, a lot of new faces are going to be showing up at Avon's fitness centers. Avon offers several options for getting fit, including the new French Creek YMCA. You can also find home fitness options at Avon stores including fitness equipment at The Great Escape and Costco, and exercise DVDs at stores such as Best Buy. Avon also has parks, with a walking trail at Schwartz Road Park.
