Theresa M. Horwedel, (nee Forthofer), Long History in Avon, Avon Lake

Descendant of one of Avon's founding families.

Theresa M. Horwedel, (nee Forthofer) 84, of Avon Lake, passed away, Saturday, November 24, 2012 at home in the company of her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Avon and Avon Lake.  The wife of the late Lester "Bud" Horwedel of Avon Lake and daughter of Sophia (Oster) and Jacob Forthofer, she was one of eight brothers and sisters. Her parents were the forefather pioneers in the early settlement of Avon. She is preceded in death by siblings Ralph Forthofer-Elyria, Ollie Forthofer-Avon, Dorothy Forthofer-Avon, Rosella (Forthofer) Walker and granddaughter Megan McGinnis. Survivors are her children, Lonny (Sue) Horwedel, Linda Burnworth, Rodger (Kimberly) Horwedel and Cynthia (Kevin) Sammon. Theresa is also survived by 12 …

Avon garden store owners and managers shared their advice on what to do now to get a head start on next spring.
