Unruly Beer Buyers Get Gun Treatment from Avon Clerk: Blotter

New Year's Eve turns not-so-happy for three men in Avon

A clerk at the BP gas station on Colorado Avenue in Avon became concerned enough on New Year’s Eve to rack a round into his 380 pistol to let two men know he was carrying. The problem started at 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 31 when the clerk said two young men were trying to buy beer by showing a temporary permit as proof of age. One of the young met briefly argued with the clerk and left, but soon returned and again began arguing over the validity of the man’s permit. The clerk, feeling threatened, took his 380 pistol out of his pocket, racked a round, and then put it back in his pocket. Man With Gun Robs Woman in JCPenney Parking Lot

Incident occurred on Oct. 29 in Avon

From the Avon Police blotters. On Oct. 29 at 10:59 p.m. police received a call  Oct. 29 from a person in the JCPenney parking lot who saw a male in the lot with a gun just before 11 p.m. on Oct. 29. The caller put a woman on the phone who told police a black man in a grey sweatshirt and jeans had told her in a near whisper  to “give it all to me.” The suspect, also described as having loose jeans and a goatee, was carrying a black weapon and ran southbound from the store. The victim told police she gave the man all her money. Police searched the area, including numerous local businesses but could not locate the suspect.
