Trade in old or broken sets for energy efficient LEDs
People can save cash and energy this year by participating in The Home Depot’s fourth annual Christmas Light Trade-In. Avon's Home Depot is located on Detroit Road in The Commons. From Nov. 1 - 14, customers can bring in their old working or non-working Christmas light strings to be recycled and receive coupons from $3 - $5 off the purchase of energy efficient seasonal LED string lights.

About 87,600 STOK Island and STOK Quattro gas grills are being voluntarily recalled after the company received 569 reports of regulators leaking propane gas. No injuries have been reported. "The regulator on the grill can leak propane gas, which can ignite, posing fire and burn hazard to consumers," according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada. The gas grill (see description here) is sold at Home Depot stores nationwide and in Canada and Direct Tools Factory Outlet stores nationwide from March 2011 through February for between $79 and $350. Event was held at Home Depot
Avon Lions were on hand to help out at this past weekend's Safety Fair at Home Depot in Avon Commons. Lions members ran a putting green for children to play on, and the Lions mascot was on hand to entertain the kids. Lions members also gave out safety glasses for children. We bought one from Discount Drug Mart about a month ago that leaked. I'm not sure if it was the same one as in the article, but it leaked and made hissing sounds. We took it back and they exchanged it for us.   more ›
