One name chosen at Friday's basketball game will win a Chevy Cruze.
Avon High School’s boosters raised more than $40,000 for school programs that will result in one lucky person winning a Chevy Cruze donated by Joe Firment Chevrolet of Avon. On Feb. 20, five names were drawn, with one of those five having their name selected at this Friday’s varsity boys basketball game. “There will be a draw off during the varsity game with consolation prizes for the four non-winning ticket holders,” Avon High School principal Kristina Dobos-Buller said in a news release. Judge said Pat O'Brien Chevrolet missed chance to protest move after being notified
Pat O'Brien Chevrolet's lawsuit to stop another dealership from moving in next door to the Westlake location has been dismissed. O’Brien’s suit claimed that Joe Firment Chevrolet's plans to relocate the Lorain location to the intersection of Chester Road and Aspen Lane in Avon would damage O'Brien's sales figures. He also argued that the plans violate an existing General Motors dealership contract condition to prevent regional dealership overcrowding. Lorain County Common Pleas Court Judge James Miraldi dismissed the case Wednesday, according to the court. O'Brien had missed his chance to follow legal procedure in the dispute after being notified of the intended move in January. There was a 15-day window for him to make a complaint to the …

Firment is planning to move from Lorain to Chester Road
The plans for Joe Firment Chevrolet to move to Avon may be up in the air after Pat O’Brien Chevrolet has sued to stop the move. Pat O’Brien Chevrolet, located at 25100 Detroit Road in Westlake, filed suit in Lorain County Court of Common Pleas to stop Firment’s intended relocation to the intersection of Chester Road and Aspen Lane from its existing site at 4500 Grove Ave. in Lorain. O’Brien’s suit asserts that the relocation would damage their sales figures and violates an existing General Motors dealership contract condition to prevent regional dealership overcrowding. The latter was implemented, in part, with a mass GM dealer contract termination in 2009. Hundreds of dealerships were a part of that contraction. The proposed move by …
