Now in its third year, a fair geared toward child safety awareness will include an anti-bullying program. On Sunday, March 10, starting at 1 p.m., the Third Annual Child Safe Community Day Fair at Avon Lake’s Troy Intermediate School will continue to bring child safety awareness issues to the community. Ellis held his first first Child Safe Community Day Fair in Strongsville in 2005. Jeff Ellis' International Karate Centers is staging a fundraiser for Berea children's home
Jeff Ellis' International Karate Centers in Avon Lake and Strongsville will have a fundraiser this summer for Guidestone (formerly Berea Children's Home). The fundraiser includes five weeks of martial arts classes at Jeff Ellis’ International Karate Centers plus a free uniform for only $45 (a $150 value). The program is open to children ages 6 and up, teens, moms and dads. Proceeds will go to Guidestone to be used for an Art Therapy program at their residential treatment campus. If you are going on vacation, you can make up the classes on your return. You can take the classes at either the Strongsville or Avon Lake location. From the Easter Bunny to self-defense tips, this fair provided hours of fun--and tips--on how to keep kids safe.
Hundreds of children and their parents turned out for the first Avon Lake Child Safe Community Day Fair at Troy Intermediate School April 3. The free fair was hosted by 8th Dan Black Belt and Master Instructor Shihan Jeff Ellis, owner of Jeff Ellis International Karate Centers and in addition to providing demonstrations and tips on keeping children safe, including self-defense tips, and had representatives from the Avon Lake police and fire departments. Self defense demonstrations highlight the need to teach kids about safety.
Hundreds of children and their parents turned out for the first Avon Lake Child Safe Community Day Fair at Troy Intermediate School on April 3. The fair, sponsored by the Avon/Avon Lake Rotary Club, was hosted by 8th Dan Black Belt and Master Instructor Shihan Jeff Ellis, owner of Jeff Ellis International Karate Centers. The day provided demonstration and tips on keeping children safe, including self-defense tips, and had representatives from the Avon Lake police and fire departments. Sunday's fair includes Easter egg hunt, ice cream eating contest and more
This Sunday, April 3, parents and their children can learn about safety and have fun while doing it. Child Safe Community Day Fair is a free and public event that will take place at Troy Intermediate School, 237 Belmar Blvd. in Avon Lake from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The community event takes place on Avon Lake’s “Child Safe Day,” as declared by Mayor Karl Zuber. The event will promote information for parents, children and all families about safety inside and outside the home.
