Turkey Dash Will Precede Thanksgiving Meals on Thursday
This annual event is expected to draw more than 1,400 runners.
The Turkey Dash, a 5k run/walk held each year on Thanksgiving morning at the Avon High School is Nov. 22 this year. This family friendly event is a great way to show your gratitude for your own health, support a great cause. And of course, work up an appetite for your own Thanksgiving feast. The race starts at 9 a.m. and benefits The Karen P. Nakon Breast Cancer Foundation. The event has become a major fundraiser for the Karen P. Nakon Breast Cancer Foundation in Avon, race director Sharon Lerch said. “In past years, we’ve raised as much as $30,000,” she told Patch in 2011.
