Easter egg hunts, breakfasts with the bunny continue. Services listed.

Easter's only a few days away, but there are still events lined up for the weekend. Here's a few. Are we missing an event or service? Add it in the comments and make sure it's in our events. Postings are free. Avon / Avon Lake VFW Post 7035 Easter Breakfast Easter breakfast is Saturday, March 30 at the VFW Post 7035 in Avon. Breakfast is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.  Breakfast will consist of  scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast sticks, bacon and sausage. The VFW is located at 36950 Mills Road in Avon. Reservations are not required. Margaret C. Doyle, (nee Carlin), 85, of Avon Lake, passed away on Nov. 12, 2012. She was born  in Cleveland on May 10, 1927. She was the beloved wife of Jack, loving mother of Maureen Kermode (Scott), Patrick, Nancy, Jim (Karen), and Eileen; dear grandmother of Laura, David, Amy, Kaeley, Molly, Kelsey and Jack; sister of the late James Carlin (Mary Lou), Katherine Duffy (Harry), William Carlin (Kathleen) and Edward Carlin (Marlene). William was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (nee Johnson); dear father of Jim (Susan), Scott (Fay) and Peg Neudeck (Tom); grandfather of Ryan Penning (Katie), Melissa Swartwood (Charlie), Nick and Max Penning and Carlie Straub (Jim). Edythe H. Adams (Nee Gliebe), 95,passed away on Oct. 27, 2012. She was born on April 24, 1917. Edythe was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Adams Sr., dear mother of Timothy D. (Bonnie) , Richard J. Jr. (Suzan) and the late Allyn R. Sr. (Susan surviving). Grandmother of Allyn R. Jr. (Kimberly), Christian D. (Suzanne) and Katherine M. Kelly (Timothy). Russell Joseph Kearney, 89, passed away on Aug. 30 2012. He was born on March 23, 1923 in Cleveland and was a resident of Avon.  Russell was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie Kearney; dear father to Kathleen Becker, Carol Agnew (Patrick)and Joseph (Sue) Kearney; loving grandfather of Francis (Fawn) Becker, Melissa Becker, Sarah (James) Eckhoff, Nicole and Meaghan Agnew, Mary Kay and Philip Kearney. He was a great-grandfather to Kali, Kai, and Kora Becker and Harper Eckhoff; brother of Roseanne Gillette and Tom Kearney and the late Jack Kearney. Milan Taborac, Sold Charle's Chips Door to Door

Taborac was former boiler operator for Chrysler, Charle's Chips salesman.

Milan Taborac, 91, of Avon Lake and formerly of Sheffield Township passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake surrounded by his family. He was born March 21, 1921 in Lorain, the son of the late John and Katherine (nee Rukavina). Milan was employed as a boiler operator for Chrysler in Sandusky before retiring. He was well known back in the day with selling Charle's Chips door to door. Milan was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elyria where he was part of the Friday night Bingo team. When his children were younger he was active at the Lorain YMCA especially getting them involved in swimming. He enjoyed fishing, playing the lottery and line dancing. Betty J. Maneri, 83, Former X-Ray Technician

Survived by family in Avon and Avon Lake.

Betty J. Maneri, 83 of Avon, formerly of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake. Betty was born Jan. 1, 1929 in Maple Heights and has lived in Avon since 1965. She graduated from Marymount High School in Garfield Heights and in 1947 began her career as an X-ray technician retiring in 1993 with Drs. Russell Berkebile & Associates. She was a registered technician, a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Ladies Guild. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading medical stories, sewing and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren described her as being the "greatest grandma." Betty was also a great cook and known for her pork and dumplings. Betty is survived by her children, Kathleen A. Perry …

Rita Mae Mitchell (nee Kowalski), 82, of Avon Lake, died May 29, 2012. She was born on Nov.  10, 1929. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward; loving mother of Ed Jr. (Dee), Dale (Linda), Terry (Kathleen), Jeff (Debra), Larry (Barb), the late Suzanne and the late Linda Louise Mitchell; grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of eight; dear sister of Marian Kral and Ken Kowalski; niece of the late Helen Colley.
