These were the top articles that drew the interest of Avon-Avon Lake Patch Readers this year.
It’s all behind us now, but 2012 brought us a mixed bag of stories. Sometimes, the stories that you expect will be “big” get moderate readership while some stories, such as “Police Shoot Turtle” generate so much interest, it brings out readership and local television stations. Here are the stories that generated the most readership in 2012. Included are stories about drownings in Lake Erie, a new restaurant opening and moving trick-or-treat before the SuperStorm… a move that proved to be a good call after large portions of Avon and Avon Lake remained without power for days. Some stories were tragic, others provided a moment of levity, such as seniors breaking out in a flashmob at graduation. Top stories of 2012

October really did have it all.
Welcome November! We know, with the aftereffects of Hurricane Sandy still lingering, it’s hard to focus on the fact that it’s a new month. October brought it all: An RTA bus driving giving a mouthy passenger an uppercut, Halloween canceled for the month and a visit from a presidential candidate. Here’s a list of our top ten stories from no. 10 to no. 1: And the no. 1 story for the month? No surprise, it’s the Cleveland woman who learned a lesson for misbehaving. Yes, this is the video seen across the world.
