Avon High School was assessed as the 66th best high school in Ohio and the 1,325 best in the country, according to the annual rankings prepared by U.S. News & World Report. Cincinnati’s Walnut Hills High School ranked first in Ohio while Dallas, TX-based School for the Talented and Gifted was ranked No. 1 in the nations. More than 22,000 public high schools were reviewed. The high school, which counted 929 students at the time of the study, received the silver medal and was noted for its participation rate (31 percent) in Advanced Placement courses.
