Let us know what sweet makes your heart go pitter-patter!
If flowers make your sweetheart sneeze and diamonds aren't in the budget, there's always chocolate. According to the National Confectioners Association, more than 36 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolate will be sold for Valentine's Day. And that doesn't include all the boxes of Malley's chocolate-covered strawberries! Forrest Gump said, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get." What Forrest didn't say is that there's nothing quite like biting into one of the chocolates and finding out it's the one you hate (coconut, ugh!). Share which chocolate treat you love. Fun, food, games and a deeper message were on the agenda at pre-Valentine's Day event
In his next life, maybe Hope Christian Church associate minister Rolland Bryar will be a game show host. He was able to swing from hosting a round of Newlywed Game to giving a talk on love at Sunday's Married Life Valentine's Day event at the church. About two dozen couples came for food, fun and to share their experiences. Julia and Robert Lando of Avon have been married for 17 years. Valentine's Day means something different now than then, Julia said. "It's a reminder of how blessed we are to have each other," she said. They also know that romance still matters. Valentine's Day is less than a week away. In addition to any plans of your own such as a romantic dinner out or an evening in with a romantic movie and a box of Catherine's Chocolates, you may also be setting an example for your children.
