Ohio is in the midst of an “unusually” active influenza season, the Ohio Department of Health reports. The Lorain County Board of Health, which oversees Avon, and the Lorain City Health Department, which oversees Avon Lake, are offering tips on preventing the flu as well as where to get flu shot in the county and Avon Lake. According to FluView, the flu is widespread throughout Ohio (numbers for Lorain County are not available).
