Eagles Advance to Semifinals in Girls Basketball
Team will play Elyria Catholic Feb. 27
The varsity Lady Eagles (14-8) beat the Avon Lake Lady Shoregals (3-17) in basketball 45-41 on Feb. 23, overcoming a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to sneak by the Shoregals in non-league play. Avon High School will advance to the district semifinals and play Elyria Catholic this Wednesday, Feb. 27 to play Magnificat High School in the district semifinals at 7:30 p.m.. The Eagles were led by sophomore Sierra Davidson, who scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and freshman Allie Bjorn who grabbed 12 rebounds and contributed 5 points.
