Patricia W. Welsh passed away on Jan. 29, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born on Nov. 23, 1927. She was a resident of Avon Lake. Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 3 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Road in Avon lake. A funeral service is planned for Monday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment (private) will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.

Herbert William "Bill" Huy, 82, Korean War Veteran

Herbert William "Bill" Huy, 82, of Avon Lake passed away on June 12, 2012. He was born on Feb. 5, 1930. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (nee Breck); loving father of Lindy Cirigliano (Marc); loving grandfather of Daniel and Matthew; preceded in death by his parents, Herbert W. Sr., and Helen (nee Drummond) and sister, Nancy Underhill. Mr. Huy was a Korean War Army Veteran. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to Kidney Foundation of Ohio, 2831 Prospect Avenue, Cleveland 44115. Private family services were held. Alfred George Scherler, Had a Passion for Horses and Harness Racing

Alfred George Scherler, 80 of Avon, formerly of Lakewood passed away, Monday, May 28, 2012 at Grace Hospital, Lakewood. Mr. Scherler was born June 29, 1931 in Cleveland and had lived in Avon since 1978. From 1963 until his retirement in 1997 Mr. Scherler worked for Webber Gage, Westlake, a Division of Starrett Corporation, working as the office manager. He was a 1949 graduate of Lakewood High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. He was a Past Master of the Gaston G. Allen Masonic Lodge, Lakewood, serving in 1973-74 and was also a member of the Royal and Accepted Masons' Cunningham Chapter, as well as a member of the Avon United Methodist Church. Mary Ann"Rusty" Davis (nee White), 89, of Avon Lake passed away on April 26, 2012. Mrs. Davis was born on Jan. 26, 1923. She loved to arrange flowers, loved music, was a weaver and loved to give parties. She is the beloved wife of the late H.L. Sarah Adrienne Batson, 32 of Avon Lake, formerly of Kansas City, KS passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 19, 2012. She was born Oct. 3, 1979 in Overland Park, KS and  graduated from Blue Valley North High School in Leawood, KS. Ms. Batson received a Phi Theta Kappa academic scholarship to Butler County Community College in El Dorado, KS. She was fascinated with human nature and was pursuing her psychology degree. She also attended Kansas State and Emporia State Colleges. She loved books and had an antique collection. She enjoyed watching many food network shows and was a fan of PBR, professional bull riding. Annette Biggins, (nee deBeir), 89, of Avon Lake passed away on March 15. She is the beloved wife of Dr. John; loving mother of John Peter, Paul (Nora), Brian (deceased) (Monique), Patrick (Sandra) and Dr. Monique Richardson (Dr. William Stanton) and grandmother of 13. She was preceded in death by her sisters Jacqueline Buysse, Rene deBeir and Jeanne Moran. Mrs. Biggins was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Funeral Mass was March 17 at Holy Spirit Church  followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Avon. Arrangements were by McGorray-Hanna Funeral Homes. Olga Andolsen (nee Pawlyshyn), 68

A resident of Avon Lake since 1969.

Olga Andolsen (nee Pawlyshyn) of Avon Lake, formerly of Parma, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a short bout with cancer. Mrs. Andolsen, 68, was born Sept. 28, 1947 in Braunschweig, Germany and came to the United States with her parents at the age of 2. She has been a resident of Avon Lake since 1969. She was a 1965 graduate of Parma Senior High School and went on to work as an international reservations agent for United Airlines, working in both the Rocky River and Dearborn, MI offices. She retired in 2002 after 35 years of service. She stayed close to her Ukrainian roots with her involvement at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lorain. When not caring for her husband…

Christine "Crissy" Winchester (nee Scheel), 64, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 following a short illness. She was born in Lakewood on Feb.  3, 1948 and was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Winchester, a lifetime resident of Avon Lake, is survived by her husband Robert J. Winchester. High school sweethearts, they married on April 22, 1967. She is also survived by three daughters: Callie Smith of Rocky River, Melissa Winchester of Colorado and Megan Milner (Matthew) of Fairview Park. Grace S Bradley, 89, Served in WWII

Grace S. Bradley (nee Schiverea), 89, of Avon Lake, passed away Nov. 23, 2011. She was born Oct. 5, 1922 in Oakhurst, New Jersey. She worked in the accounting office for USG Interiors, Westlake retiring in 1990. Bradley served her country during WWII as a WAVE in the US Navy, stationed in Philadelphia. A member of the Lively Avon Lakers, she enjoyed travel. Bradley is preceded in death by her husband Capt. Eugene Bradley. Services are pending. Private Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
