Making Progress: Guitarmania Glass Guitar Nearing Completion

Judy Kean's Guitarmania piece is almost ready for the Rock Hall.

Glass artist Judy Kean is readying her 10-foot Guitarmania piece for its final touches this week. On April 17, Kean was adding glass pieces the guitar’s sides before the next step, adding black grout. She has been creating the piece in an empty storefront and has invited the public to stop in and watch...and on occasion help out.  Kean is hoping the guitar will be ready to ship to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Friday. Members of the community have stopped in to help Kean—or watch as she works—since she began the project on site in Learwood (Giant Eagle) Plaza  next to Ron Zehel Guitar Center four weeks ago. The guitar will eventually be auctioned off to benefit the United Way as part of its Guitarmania project.
