Pampering Options Offer Something for Everyone
We all want to look and feel our best. And if someone else is willing to do the work for us (such as a hair stylist or massage therapist), so much the better. Here are five places to go in Avon for spa treatments: Nail Clinic & Body Spa: Sure, you can come here just for a manicure, but there is so much more to be enjoyed. In fact, March is the month to try some of the other services, such as a facial or massage. An ad on the spa’s website urges clients to book a service they’ve never had before. First-timers who mention the ad when they schedule their appointment will get $10 off. Light Salon & Spa: Spring and summer brides might want to check out the wedding packages. There’s even one that includes bridesmaids. Let’s be honest, ladies, …

Here are five in the greater Avon area that are making a difference: Our Lady of the Wayside: You’ve probably heard the “Donate your ride to Our Lady of the Wayside” jingle on the radio. Taking in old cars is just one of the ways the nonprofit raises money. Based in Avon, it serves clients with developmental and physical disabilities in Lorain and Cuyahoga counties. The agency helps boost self esteem and independence to create a …

Looking to toast your valentine close to home?
Restaurants can help create the perfect recipe for romance on Valentine’s Day. But don’t let the fact that this year’s holiday is on a Monday spoil the mood. Instead, make this a long weekend of love. Here are some suggestions on where to celebrate (but remember to make reservations): ▪ Strip Steakhouse: It’s closed on Valentine's Day, so Strip is offering to “Give Your Valentine an Evening to Remember” this Saturday, Feb. 12. If the wide variety of soups, salads and entrees isn’t enough to tempt you, the dessert presentation (featuring the word “assortment”) beckons. Y0u get all this, plus live music by saxophonist Patrick Mumford, for a head start on Valentine's Day. ▪ Fratello’s: This longtime Cleveland favorite is right here in …
