A couple of thoughts about those 'death panels'. 1. When the Republicans (yes, not the dems) came up with that part in their own plan to fix the medical financial mess we are in no one complained, but as soon as it was not their plan anymore it became an issue. 2. That part was then removed to keep everyone happy.

The 83% of doctors considering quitting is just a lovely biased poll, and bad reporting to top it off. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/jul/12/jeff-duncan/gop-lawmaker-jeff-duncan-repeats-survey-finding-83/

On the Blog Post Reality TV Is Ruining The English Language

ReplyThe English language, as with all languages, is an ever changing item. It never stays the same and it never should. If the language were to stagnate then so would our minds. Yes, sometimes people use terms or words that drive me nuts, but those items will probably not make it into common usage. I say probably because the one thing I truly despise is 'like' being used more than once in a single sentence. "Like, I was totally, like, blown away by that, like, band." (shudder)

tom m, you make a few mistakes here.
#1. I am not an Occupy anything person. Never said I was.
#2. You clearly have no concept of punctuation, but I guess that is not really important, just doesn't help your argument.
#3. one example? Christian - let me think real hard here...Crusades? I know, long time ago but still a valid point since we are talking extremists.
I agree that the tea party has not caused property damage directly. I agree that some in the occupy movement have. I just do not believe that an entire group, that believe that they are working towards making a country better, should be classified with the extremists of their group. -

Reply@tom m. Wow, really? Are you saying that some people in a group are childish and act with malice? What a surprise!
Yes, more wankers that want to believe that they are involved. Every group has the nut jobs on the extremist side. Republicans, Democrats, Tea Party, Ocupy, Christian, Muslim, Athiest, Communist...etc. Just because there are extremists does not mean that the entire group should be labeled. -

ReplyClaiming that these losers are the face of Occupy and that they represent them. Interesting. Following that type of logic (that a few idiots that want to blow up a bridge means the whole group wants to be destructive) means that I can say that the tea party is full of racists and bigots, that they all believe Obama is a muslim and that he was not born in the US. Sad commentary on the thought processes working around just because people would rather hate than think.

ReplyIf the used car dealer tries to get you to sign a document that forces arbitration if there are any issues, get up and walk out. Don't ever go back. LFMF

I browsed that site a bit before writing this comment and I was just a bit amazed that I did not find anything on the fake moon landings or the aliens at Area 51 or 54. Conspiracies theories aside, do you have anything useful to add to the discussion?
