Sneak Peek: PlayhouseSquare Jump Back Ball

Jump Back Ball is back for its 22nd year! Get a glimpse at some of the decor built by PlayhouseSquare's young professionals group and learn more about this fundraiser.

This Saturday, Jump Back Ball returns to PlayhouseSquare's State Theatre for its 22nd year.

Hosted by Partners, the theatre's young professionals group, it's one of the city's crazier parties - a chance to dress up in black tie or costume; dance on the State Theatre stage; and enjoy an open bar, two bands and plenty of other activities.

On top of all that, it's focused around a creative theme like this year's ode to boardgames: Jump Back Two Spaces.

For me, though, Jump Back Ball is more than just a party. As a member of Partners, it's a chance to raise money for a Cleveland gem like PlayhouseSquare (over $125,000 last year) and get back in touch with my old college theatre days.

A key part of Partners' hosting responsibilities is creating all of the decor at Shop Nights. So the month leading up to Jump Back Ball is spent building, painting, crafting, painting, hammering and - yes - painting all of the set and decor pieces that will transform State Theatre into a boardgame wonderland.
