Special Waugaman Gallery Exhibit
During the month of January, enjoy the Avon Lake Local History Art Collection in the Waugaman Gallery. This collection is normally on display in the McMahan Room (meeting room on lower level), but for the month of January you can enjoy this wonderful collection that was recently refurbished by the Library and Catherine Nowak of Vintage Gallery in Avon Lake.

Author Fireside Chat
Join us on Sunday, Jan. 13 from 2 pm – 3 pm, for the first of three “Author Fireside Chats” with Avon Lake’s most talented writers. Our first author is Leah Clifford. Ms Clifford held many careers before becoming a writer. She will share her journey as the author of two novels, A Touch Mortal and A Touch Morbid. Her third book in the trilogy will be published in March 2013. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Did you receive a Nook this holiday season? Bring it to the Library on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and learn how to use it. Tom Berry, Digital Lead for Barnes and Noble will demonstrate some features of the Nook, answer your questions and show you how to download a library eBook to your device. Self Defense Class for Guys
On Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., Jeff Ellis of the International Karate Center in Avon Lake will provide a fun introduction to martial arts and self defense karate techniques for ages 11 – 16. In lieu of a class fee, please bring a non-perishable food item for donation to CRS. Registration is required by Monday, Jan. 14 at the Young Adult desk or by calling 440-933-8128 x247.
