Vote once a day to help Megan Zurkey earn a trip to NBC's "The Voice"

In early February, Avon Lake Patch introduced readers to Megan Zurkey, who had recently been single men and women by Cleveland Magazine.

Zurkey was singled out not just for her good looks and charisma, but her incredible singing ability. Now she’s hoping with the public’s help, she’ll be able to further showcase her singing ability on the NBC hit talent singing show, The Voice.

Recently, Zurkey was selected by WKYC as a Top 10 Finalist for The Voice: Cleveland Rocks.

“My ultimate goal would be to represent Cleveland on the national show The Voice and make Blake Shelton or Christina Aguilera turn around and hear why Cleveland Rocks,” Zurkey said.

Making it as a finalist was a feat in itself.

“I sent in a video audition on Aug. 12, and was called back to the second round for live auditions on Aug. 20,” Zurkey said. “I then had an amazing judge named Laura Pederson who put me through to the next round.  When I was called as a top 10 I was in shock but so excited!!  If you are ever 100 percent happy with a performance, you're time is up... you've got to want to continue trying to improve and get better every time you sing or song write.”

The top ten were shown live Monday night on WKYC channel 3 for an hour show set up like American Idol with clips of each contestant leading up to their live performance.  Zurkey sang Mercy live on TV.

Log on to the show's website to vote, once a day until Thursday at noon. Only one vote per ISP address is allowed. The site contains a video of Zurkey singing Amazing Grace.
