Did you ever wonder how the of the Lorain County Metro Parks came to be? It all began in 2003 with a committee of Avon Lake residents who wanted to preserve 107 acres in the heart of the city with a plan called “Save the Woods.”  Follow their journey in a scrapbook donated to the Library by committee member Jan Van Wagner. Ask at the Reference desk to view this wonderful piece of local history.
