Zurkey Farewell Concert, Get Together is Sunday, May 19

One hour concert, reception is open to the public.

After 36 years, Avon Lake High School choral director Bill Zurkey conducted his last concert Thursday night in the school’s PAC. While the night proved to be a memorable one for Zurkey, his family, performers and guests, one last surprise remained: Plans were announced for a farewell concert, "The End of an Era," on Sunday, May 18, at 1 p.m. in the Avon Lake High School Performing Arts Center (PAC).

Former and current students, school personnel and those who may have become acquainted with Zurkey, who was recently honored by Bowling Green State University as a 2013 College Alumni Award Recipients, are invited to come by, hear the concert and join the reception.

Expect plenty of Merples and choral alumni, singing and a fun mix of music.
