Avon Lake's DeChant Earns Kaiser's Presidents' Award

Avon Lake resident Tom DeChant, Manager, has been awarded Kaiser Permanente Spirit Award, one of the company’s 2012 Presidents’ Signature Awards.

DeChant works for the Learning Solutions Team – Kaiser Permanente Data Center in Brooklyn Heights.

The recipient of this award makes coming to work or getting care at Kaiser Permanente a pleasant experience, is a tireless champion of Kaiser Permanente, and demonstrates such pride in the organization that it uplifts and inspires his or her co-workers.

DeChant was honored at a ceremony at Quicken Loans Arena on Aug. 21 along with four other award recipients. 

Each year, Kaiser Permanente employees are nominated and awarded for their professionalism, caring, and commitment to members, patients, communities and the organization.

 “The winners exude the passion, dedication, and service that our members expect from a health care organization,” Patricia Kennedy-Scott, President of Kaiser Permanente of Ohio, said. “We are proud of them and the consistent quality and care they deliver.”

Beyond the Stars Award recipient was Seona Goerndt, of Euclid. Also earning awards were Shaker Heights' Mark Roth, MD, Internal Medicine; Sharon Devecka, RN, Advice Nurse, Kaiser Permanente Member Service Center a Cleveland resident; and Lucy Thomas, Nurse Practitioner, Internal Medicine, a Columbia Station resident.
