FRIENDS OF THE AVON LIBRARY MEETING

TECH HELP

Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library is answering your technology-related questions.  Tech Help class on Saturday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m. is your chance to get help from the library’s computer trainer.  This will be an informal session about the use of computers, tablets, eReaders, the Internet and so on.  Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.  The Avon Branch Library is located at 37485 Harvest Drive, Avon.

eMEDIA

There are many devices on the market that support eMedia.  Come to Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library to see demonstrations on some of the popular devices.  eBooks, music, audiobooks and more are available to download for free using the library’s services.  Learn all about it at eMedia class on Monday, April 8 at 6 p.m.  Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.  The Avon Branch Library is located at 37485 Harvest Drive, Avon.

INTRODUCTION TO WATERCOLOR PENCIL

Watercolor pencils have colored lead that flows and blends like watercolor when it’s wet.  Adults, come to Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library for Introduction to Watercolor Pencil class on Tuesday, April 9 at 6 p.m.  At this free introductory class, you will learn how to layer color and express yourself through techniques, rather than detailed drawing.  All supplies are provided.  Space is limited, so call the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743 today to preregister.  The Avon Branch Library is located at 37485 Harvest Drive, Avon.

EXCEL FOR BEGINNERS

Do you like the look of a spreadsheet, but are intimidated about creating one yourself.  Take Excel for Beginners class at Lorain Public Library System’s Avon Branch Library Wednesday, April 10 at 6 p.m.  Participants will learn about the basics of using the 2007 edition of Microsoft Excel to set up a spreadsheet workbook.  The instructor will demonstrate how to input data, compose simple spreadsheet formulas, and choose layout and print format options.  A limited amount of hands-on practice time will be available.  Participants need to be comfortable using a mouse to attend.  Preregistration is required by calling the Avon Branch Library at 440-934-4743.  The Avon Branch Library is located at 37485 Harvest Drive, Avon.
