Six Generations of Tomaneks: Taylor, 7, Pays Her Respects
Great-great-great granddaughter of the first Tomanek buried at Lake Shore Cemetery pays Memorial Day respects.

In addition to being one of the oldest Avon Lake families, the Tomanek family also has the distinction of having the latest burial at the cemetery, which earned its second landmark status on May 19.

Elizabeth Tomanek was born on June 29, 1899 and died on May 26, 1991.
According to the records of the Sexton, there are only two more unused burial plots remaining at the cemetery.
Also buried at the cemetery are World War I veterans Pvt. Carl Tomanek, US Army; Pvt. Robert Tomanek, US Marines; and Corp. William Tomanek, US Army.
