Snowy Start to Weekend

Winter weather advisory in effect

Keep those shovels handy, Avon. You'll be needing them soon.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for all of northern Ohio through 6 a.m. Saturday, with 4 to 6 inches of snow in the forecast.

According to the advisory, low pressure will move up the Ohio River Valley late Friday and Friday night. Snow will spread west to east, with moderate to heavy snow expected Friday night, as much as an inch per hour.

After the snow ends, the forecast calls for a quiet but cloudy weekend. It will be cold on Saturday, with a high of 28 degrees. Sunday will be warmer, with a high of 43. Rain is forecast for Monday, with a high of 47.
