Peter & Co. Jewelers of Avon Lake has nominated Camp !magine for the Jewelers for Children (JFC) Local Grant Program. JFC, a non-profit organization founded by the jewelry industry in 1999 and the public can help Camp !magine get that grant.
JFC is dedicated to helping children in need, and recently launched Local Grant Program. The program has set aside $100,000 to fund ten $10,000 grants for local children’s charities around the country. Jewelers were asked to nominate their favorite non-profit.
“We were pleased to hear about the program,” Theresia Oreskovic, owner of Peter & Co. Jewelers, said. “It was such an easy way to help support the excellent work Camp !magine does locally.”
Camp !magine is an all encompassing six-week program geared toward children with special needs that empowers them to participate in the community through project-based learning.
“It’s important to get the word out to the public to vote so Camp !magine receives one of these generous grants,” Oreskovic added.
Voting is simple. Individuals
wishing to participate can go the Jewelers for Children Facebook
page between Oct. 15 and Oct. 30; click on Camp !magine from among the
nominees; then encourage others to visit the page and vote.
“Pulling together, we can help
provide some much needed funding for Camp !magine,” Oreskovic said. “One minute
of your time, one vote, $10,000. What could be easier?”
