Barbara May Hynes of Avon, Member of St. Mary Church

Services are Sunday, Monday

Barbara May Hynes (nee King), 71, of Avon passed away Aug. 16, 2013 at the Ames Family Hospice Center, Westlake following a three-year battle with cancer. 

She was born Nov. 13, 1941 in Cleveland and lived in Avon for 35 years. 

She was employed as an accounting clerk with National City Bank for more than 20 years and for Cuyahoga County as a case worker with Health and Human Services for more than 20 years before retiring 10 years ago.

Mrs. Hynes was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Avon. 

She enjoyed reading and books on tape, trips with her daughter. Her greatest joy came from her family to whom she was fiercely loyal.

Mrs. Hynes is the loving mother of John Andrew Hynes (Tonya) of Ft. Stewart, GA; and Karen Ann Underwood (Nathan) of Brunswick; the devoted, cherished and loved grandmother of John Hynes, Jr.; James Hynes; Conor and Noah Underwood; and dear sister of Jack, Joanne, Rosemary and Tom. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Michael and LaVerne Theresa King (nee Wellinger).

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.  and  6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18.

Prayer service are at the funeral home Monday, Aug. 19 at 9 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Rd, Avon at 10 a.m. Fr. Thomas Cleaton will officiate. 

Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.
