Diane Marie Kopf-Rym, of Avon Lake

Lifetime resident passed away after a brief illness Sept. 27.

Diane Marie Kopf-Rym, 69 of Avon Lake, passed away on Thursday, Sept.  27, 2012 at home following a long illness.

She was born in Cleveland on Jan. 4, 1943 and shortly afterwards moved to Avon Lake where she was a lifetime resident. She graduated from Avon Lake High School in 1961.

Diane worked at BF Goodrich, Jacobs Visconsi & Jacobs Law Firm, and Baker Hostetler as a legal secretary. Diane loved music, photography and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed writing fun newsletters to family and friends, gardening, and party planning for others and class reunions.

Diane leaves behind four children, Matt Rym of Lorain, Christopher Rym (Cassie) of Amherst, Shannon Rym (John) of Avon Lake, and Michelle Toth Worley (Craig) of Florida; brother Herman "Bucky" Kopf (Joanne), sister Lynn Kopf-Ladikos (Paul) both of Avon Lake; grandchildren Michelle, Cheryl, Liz, Hannah, Madi, Abigail and great-grandmother of three. She is preceded in death by her parents Herman F. and Marie L. (nee Andrews) Kopf.

Friends may call at the 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake from 2-4p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct.  4.

A Celebration of Diane's Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Avon Lake United Church of Christ, 32801 Electric Blvd. Memorial contributions may be forward to OROC, Outrun Ovarian Cancer, P.O.
