Terry Taylor, 66, Coached Avon Lake T-Ball

Services are Wednesday.

Terry R. Taylor, 66, of Avon Lake, and formerly of Pemberville, OH passed away at his home on Sept. 19, 2012 after a lengthy illness.

Terry was born on Sept. 26, 1945 in Fremont, graduated from Eastwood High School in Pemberville in 1963 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from BGSU in 1967. He received his Master of Divinity from the Methodist Theological School in 1972.

He taught briefly in the Lorain City Schools, worked for numerous social service agencies including Scioto Village, Franklin County Children's Services and the Grafton Correctional Facility. Terry coached his son's T-ball team in Avon Lake in the late 1980s and spent countless hours assisting chemical dependency and AA organizations with the treatment and recovery process of people with addictions.

Terry was a loving husband to Ada (nee Everhardt); devoted father of one son, Elliott of Avon Lake; and brother of Trudy Davies of Pemberville. He was preceded in death by his father O. Stein Conaghan (d. 1983) and his mother Alvena Conaghan (nee Johnson) (d. 1995).

Friends may call at the 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Rev. Paul Peters will officiate. Burial will be private at Elmhurst Park Cemetery, Avon.
