Wolfgang Staub, Longtime Avon Volunteer Firefighter

Became a U.S. citizen in 1960.

Wolfgang Staub, 77, passed away on Tuesday Aug. 7, 2012 at his home after a long illness, in the presence of his wife Kathy (nee Schneider).

He was born in Baden-Baden, Germany on Feb. 8, 1935. He became a United States citizen in 1960 and was a resident of Avon, Ohio since 1955.

He was a volunteer firefighter for the for 18 years and retired from the Cleveland Cargill Salt Mines in 2002.

Wolfgang is lovingly survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy Staub; his children Herbert (Gina) of Solon, Randy (Courtney) of Norwalk, Heidi of Canberra, Australia and Eric Staub of Avon; grandfather of Brittaney, Candyce, Sullivan and Andrew Staub.

Friends may call in the e of Westlake, 25620 Center Ridge Rd. (west of Columbia) on Friday, Aug. 10 from 4 p.m. -8 p.m.

Funeral Mass is Saturday Aug. 11 at in Avon at 10 a.m.

Burial is private.
