A 51-year-old man was taken by Metro Life Flight to MetroHealth Systems Tuesday afternoon
after he was hit by a car at the intersection of Walker and Lear roads.
John Rowan, of Avon Lake, was riding a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was struck by a 17-year-old Avon Lake girl driving a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer at 2:29 p.m. on Oct. 9.
“He was riding westbound on Walker Road when he was hit by the eastbound car turning north on Lear Road,” Avon Lake Police Lt. Duane Streator said.
“He was flown to Metro,” Streator said. “I don’t know what his condition is now, but he obviously had some serious injuries yesterday.”
Streator said the accident was not the motorcyclist’s fault. The incident is still under investigation.
Check back later to see if there are updates on Rowan’s condition, which was not available at publication.
