Drunk, Disorderly Man in Underwear Busted After Entering Home

When questioned, man says he was landscaping.

A resident called police early on June 25 to report a man, dressed only in his underwear and a T-shirt, tried to enter her home. When police caught up with the skivvy-clad Avon Lake resident, he said he was out landscaping.

Joseph Bosky was arrested and charged with trespassing, obstructing official business, disorderly conduct by intoxication and possession of marijuana. Bosky, who turned 27 the night before the arrest, pleaded no contest to the four misdemeanors June 28 in Avon Lake Municipal Court.

The incident report lists Brosky's address as 151 Lakewood Dr., however the booking sheet lists an address in North Ridgeville.

Avon Lake police officers Lt. Michael Bulger and Ptl. James Valencic responded to a Forest Boulevard home after a woman reported a man in a white T-shirt and underwear had entered her home at about 4:30 a.m. and left. Police found Bosky on South Point Drive, but he walked away from the officers and tried to jump a fence. Police caught up with and arrested Bosky.

Officers said in the report that Bosky was “stumbling while walking and had very glassy/bloodshot eyes.” When asked what he was doing out that early Bosky replied, “I’m landscaping … all I’m doing is stomping trees.”

Police say Bosky entered the Forest Boulevard residence through an unlocked door; the homeowner’s dogs alerted her that a person was in her home. The homeowner escorted Bosky out of the house and called police. Bosky’s pants and another T-shirt were found on the woman’s property. The pants contained three marijuana cigarettes, police said.

The woman, who told police she did not feel threatened, said she didn’t think it was Bosky’s intent to steal anything and did not want to press charges.

Police reports indicate Bosky was intoxicated.

“While en route to the station, the interior of my patrol vehicle smelled like alcohol,” Valencic wrote. “Bosky would mumble words that I could not make out due to his drunken state of mind.”

Police say that Bosky became belligerent after he was brought to the station for booking. He was placed into a cell and was booked the next day.

Bosky pleaded no contest June 30 to all charges and was fined $100 on each charge for disorderly conduct and obstructing official business, and $150 on the marijuana charge. His driver's license suspended for six months. He also was sentenced to 30 days jail, 27 of which were suspended, for criminal trespassing.
