Man Charged with Vehicular Homicide in Incident That Killed Avon Lake High School Grad

Lakewood man arrested in incident that killed Mitchelll Anselmo and injured four others.

Cleveland Police have arrested a 35-year-old Lakewood man in relation to an accident Sunday night that took the life of an graduate.

Timothy Spock, a 35-year-old Lakewood man, was taken into custody July 29 following the accident. He was charged on Monday afternoon with Aggravated Vehicular Homicide and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, July 31, at 8:30 a.m.

Andelmo, a 2003 Avon Lake High School graduate wa reportedly living in Lakewood. He was one of five people struck by a vehicle driven by Spock Sunday night.

According to the police report, the street on Clifton Boulevard was barricaded at West 117th Street and east of that location because of a festival. A vehicle was traveling eastbound on Clifton Boulevard and struck the barricade, drove over it and into a crowd which was in a tented area.

The festival, "Dancin' in the Street," is one of Cleveland's largest LGBT fundraisers run by the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland.

The vehicle struck five people who were taken to MetroHealth Medical center for treatment. Two individual were listed as critical.

Charges have not yet been filed against Spock. The investigation is continuing.
