The road closing is one of several Avon Lake drivers have encountered this summer. Jaycox and Lear roads have both been closed at the railroad crossing at different times in July, including that took drivers—and the city—by surprise. City Engineering Manager Joe Reitz is hoping drivers take it in stride.

“The greatly appreciates drivers patience this summer for all of the road projects going on over this summer,” Reitz said. “After these projects are completed we hope drivers can see the benefits.”
