Fenderbosch Will Run To Retain Avon Lake Ward 2 Seat

Council woman was elected in 2007; has carved out a niche in environmental issues.

Avon Lake Councilwoman Jennifer Fenderbosch announced she will run for re-election of the city’s Ward 2 seat.

Fenderbosch was elected in November 2007 and has carved out a niche as an environmentalist. In addition to chairing council’s Environmental Committee, she is the council representative to the Environmental Affairs Advisory Board and created the Renewable Energy Taskforce, where she acts as Council Representative.

Fenderbosch said she is also concerned about balancing the city’s finances with city services.

“Ward 2 residents deserve to be represented by a resourceful advocate who will continue to insist on fiscal responsibility to continue improving the effectiveness of city government,” she said. “By maximizing opportunities for economic development we will insure sustainability while maintaining our excellent city services.”

Fenderbosch has continued her motto of “It’s All About Action,” and said the city’s most pressing issue is to provide a “permanent economic solution that sustains the local labor force, infrastructure and services that benefit the entire community.”

Her plan includes eliminating waste and duplication by seeking shared opportunities between agencies, using the city’s proximity to Lake Erie for economic opportunities including businesses and keeping a focus on the city’s services.

Fenderbosch is a 24-year resident of Avon Lake. She and her husband Mark are both retired. The couple raised two children here. The council woman earned a BA degree in political science from Bowling Green State University and an AA degree in interior design from Cuyahoga Community College. Fenderbosch attended Cleveland State University's Leadership Academy.
