Flooded Basements? Wednesday, Thursday Meetings Will Answer Questions

Residents can attend one or the other meeting, which will have the same format.

Two meetings will be held this week to address flooding that has been occurring citywide this year.

The community meetings, on Wednesday, Nov. 16, and Thursday, Nov. 17, will be hosted by and the to discuss what the utility and the city are doing, and what residents can do, to avoid basement flooding.

This year’s intense rains have caused the storm water from private property to overload the sanitary sewer. The meetings will give residents the opportunity to discuss the issues with City and Utility leaders, and what each party is doing and can be done to respond to the changing weather patterns that have exacerbated the problem.

Two meetings will provide residents with the opportunity of attending on a convenient day and location (Nov. 16 at gymnasium and Nov. 17 at gymnasium, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.).

Both meetings will be the same format so residents can choose to attend either or both meetings. Chief Utilities Executive Todd Danielson and City Engineering Manager Joe Reitz will be present to talk about what the City is doing to identify and assist the residents.
