Mosser Chosen to Build Nagel Interchange

ODOT made selection on Thursday

Mosser Construction was awarded the Nagel Road interchange construction contract by the Ohio Department of Transportation Thursday, Jim Piazza announced.

It wasn't a huge surprise. Mosser was the low bidder, at Monday's work session, bidding $16.1 million for the project.

Jerry Plas told Council that he knew of Mosser from when he worked in the private sector, and that they had an very good reputation.

ODOT has used Mosser on previous projects, Piazza said, and spoke highly of them.

"They rank (Mosser) very high on cooperation, thoroughness, quality of work and timeliness," Piazza said.

The contract should be signed next week, Piazza said, with pre-construction meetings with the city and ODOT following that.

After the meetings, the city should have a timeline for the project, Piazza said.

Equipment for the project should start arriving on-site by the end of the month.

"It feels good, after 9 years of work, to get to this point where construction's about to start," Piazza said.
