Avon High School’s boosters raised more than $40,000 for school programs that will result in one lucky person winning a Chevy Cruze donated by Joe Firment Chevrolet of Avon.
On Feb. 20, five names were drawn, with one of those five having their name selected at this Friday’s varsity boys basketball game.
“There will be a draw off during the varsity game with consolation prizes for the four non-winning ticket holders,” Avon High School principal Kristina Dobos-Buller said in a news release.
The 2012 new Chevy Cruz is valued at approximately $22,000 and was an outright donation to the high school. The money will be used for various booster clubs including the athletic boosters, academic boosters, band and orchestra boosters, choir and drama boosters
“Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the Firment family and dealership,” Dobos-Buller said.
The five names selected are:
- Gary Sprecher of Avon
- Rory Szymanel of Elyria,
- Brooke Hahn of Avon Lake and
- Jan DeLuca of Avon
- Rafael Rivera of Avon
The boys varsity basketball game starts at 6:30 p.m. at Avon High School.
