Avon Lake Graduates Celebrate Commencement (Photo Gallery)

Class of 2011 enjoyed an May 30, as the weather held out allowing 251 seniors to earn dioplomas in a renovated

The ceremony went off almost without a hitch. While the storms held off, the heat, which reached near 90 degrees, caused the school's principal Dr. Joanie Walker to briefly pass out. Walker recovered within a minute and returned to the podium to give a speech and hand out diplomas. 

Tyler Srail and Alison Flint represented were the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively. Srail graduated with a 4.741 GPA. Flint graduated with a 4.7 GPA (check back later for a feature on the two). In addition to the valedictorian's speech, senior class president Celia Wright gave a speech on the opportunities Avon Lake presented.

The Class of 2011’s top 10 graduating seniors, who were honored on the podium are Tyler Wade Srail, Alison Ewing Flint, Laura Taraboanta, Celia Anne Wright, Blair Morgan Carpenter,  Allison Clare Moore, Elizabeth Diane Crooks,  Nicholas Benjamin Brady, Sarah Nicole Meyer and Austin Christopher Grosel.
