Fans of football have much to celebrate this week.
First, the Eagles (12-1) are in the OHSAA Division II state football semifinals after , 35-21, in the Region 6 championship game on Friday.
The Eagles will play Region 5 Aurora (12-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Byers Field (7600 Day Drive, Parma).

That leads to something else to celebrate. Fans don't have to drive all the way to Fremont as they have for the last two games. According to directions from Mapquest, Byers Field is 21.35 miles from the intersection of Detroit and Center Roads, and a 33-minute drive.
According to the OHSAA, tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the gate. As soon as Avon High has information on advance ticket sales, we'll get it to you.
