Lake Erie Crushers Lose in Extra Innings to Narrow Playoff Race

Crushers a half-game ahead of Traverse City Beach Bums

J.T. Hall's solo home run in the bottom of the 11th lifted the Traverse City Beach Bums over the , 5-4, Wednesday night in Traverse City, Mich.

The win narrows the Crushers' lead over the Beach Bums for the final Frontier League Eastern Division playoff spot to a half-game. 

Hall drove in four of the Beach Bums' five runs as the team snapped a four-game losing streak.

According a report from the Crushers, the team took a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI doubles by Andrew Davis and Jason Taylor. The Beach Bums tied the game in the bottom of the inning.

Trailing, 4-2, in the seventh, the Crushers rallied to tie the game with an RBI double by Jereme Milons and an RBI triple by Jodam Rivera.

Travis Risser (2-5) took the loss as he came in in the 11th in relief of reliever Ruben Flores, and gave up the home run to Hall.

Milons went 3-for-5 and scored twice. Davis' two doubles in the game give him 31 for the season, tops in the Frontier League.

Taylor had three hits, and Rivera and Brian Erie each had two.

The Crushers (41-38) play the final game of the series against the Beach Bums at 7:05 p.m. Thursday. Paul Fagan (5-9, 4.44 earned run average) is scheduled to start. They return to on Friday for a three-game series against the Windy City Thunderbolts.
