State-Ranked Boys Cross Country Place Second

Team could move into top-10

The Boys Cross Country team placed second out of 24 teams at the Strongsville Invitational last Saturday beating seven state-ranked teams. The Shoremen entered ranked 16th in the state cross country poll last week will likely move into the top 10 after defeating a number of highly ranked teams at Strongsville.

The Shoremen just missed defeating no. 1 state-ranked St. Xavier from Cincinnati by 8 points while defeating no. 6 Hudson, no. 8 Toledo St. Francis, no. 9 Mentor and no. 11 Medina state ranked teams in Ohio.

In a highly competitive field of runners, the Shoremen team was the only team to place four in the top 30. They also placed all seven runners in the top 120 out of 200 runners.

Trevor Norris (6) led the Shoremen followed by Francesco Maiorca (8th), Connor Musial (20t, Tom Parsons (30th), Michael Callesen (92), Devin Arora (106), Jared Shelar (118) and Leon Kinsley (131).

Shoregals place 19th

The Shoregals finished 19th at Strongsville. The team was led by Annie Wennerberg followed by Jessica Lambert, Marisa Gerrone, Katey Faber, Jane Dusky, Maddie Furrer, and Danielle Patton. 

The JV Shoremen finished 15th and were led by freshman Trent Glasser (13th), Dan Luca (62nd), Jon O’Donnell (84th), Chris Saranita (109th), Michael Luca (111th), Chip Connolly (121st) and Riley Yantz (129th).

The Shoremen and Shoregals competed at the Gilmour Invitational on Friday. Check back for updates.
