Health & Fitness

Today is Day One

It's finally here.  I am getting ready to head out.  This will be our last walk in Cleveland.  I wish it were because they had found a cure.  There will be a lot of mixed emotions.  We will be remembering our friends, family, boyfriends, girlfriends, sisters and brothers who have been stricken by this disease.  My hope is that one day nobody will ever have to hear a doctor say there is nothing more they can do to help.  I only want people to hear that they are cured and they can live a long and happy life.

Go out and show your support and keep every one of the walkers this weekend in your prayers and if you are a praying person, pray for a cure.  No person should ever have to suffer the way any cancer patient does.

This year they are doing something special on Saturday night. You can come see what life is like in camp if you have a friend or family member walking.  From 4:30 to 8:30 you can come visit the camp.  We’ll have games and entertainment for adults and kids and a performance by the Versatile Dance Company.

Parking for friends and family visiting Saturday night will be available at Westlake United Methodist Church (27650 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake, OH 44145). Shuttle buses will be transporting visitors between this lot and the campsite between 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Due to limited space on site, personal vehicle are not allowed at camp. All visitors must depart camp by 8:30 p.m.

I am hoping I will be able to post to this blog throughout the weekend, but if not I will be back on Sunday to let you know how it went.
