48%: Private industry workers who choose to participate in retirement plans

A study by the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that in March 2012, 65% of
private industry workers had access to retirement plans such as pensions or
401(k)s. However, only 48% of workers chose to participate. If your employer offers a retirement plan, learn about the options you have available. Regardless, be sure to think holistically about your retirement savings, whether it is through a workplace plan, an individual retirement account (IRA), or other means. Partnering with a financial professional can help you create and monitor a plan that will increase your confidence for retirement.
